Ashtanga Yoga is designed to purify the body and build strength and mobility by linking postures and deep breathing with a steady gaze in a set sequence that has a consistent format.
It can be practiced by anyone, whether young, old, healthy or sick.
Classes are taught in traditional Mysore style, where students are guided individually by the teacher. Although in a group setting in the Mysore room students move through their own practices as the teacher monitors the room and assists when necessary.
Through the daily practice of Ashtanga we draw it into ourselves, understand it, and become proficient in its methods, thereby reaping its wide-range benefits. Please join if you’d like to draw upon its riches.
Classes at DAYS are taught as we have learned from our teacher, R. Sharath Jois in Mysore India.
